Criminals from all walks of life have been able to avoid police over the years using various ways to disappear permanently. Many criminals still find ways to vanish today, even though new micro technologies are readily available and implemented almost everywhere. People can get away from places easily, but many make mistakes that end up costing them the rest of their lives in jail.
Most criminals that plan their crimes in advance try to assume a new identity and relocate themselves. Although it seems like a complex venture, stealing someone’s information and relocating is actually pretty simple to do. There are a few reasons why people get caught at some point using this method. Many felons cannot wait to get out of their area so they do not get captured, but end up becoming a suspect in the process. Many criminals are recognized throughout the country once they are missing for some time, and police release photos to help. Many individuals will also not totally leave their friends and family behind, which gives them contact and the possibility to be traced and caught.
A lot of felons will perform their crimes and leave the country immediately, and will apply for their US passports under an alias well in advance. These preparations are usually made under a new identity in case they are found out before they are able to make a getaway. Getting visas in advance as well, such as for Russian visas, allows for a person to relocate there and apply for citizenship. Many countries have rules that do not allow for their citizens to be taken for crimes outside the country. Although some do get away like this, criminals of the past have run into rough patches with the government of their new land. Sometimes, living like this can be worse than going to prison, and individuals will sometimes make a deal to come back to prison as opposed to living in the other country.
Although many criminals are able to get away with their crimes and never go to prison, they inadvertently place themselves in a prison anyway. Most criminals will end up living as a recluse or wanderer in fear of being caught for the rest of their lives. Many people do not end up living happily, because they have to worry so much and keep away from their loved ones.
